When I was first given the opportunity to review The Dog That Talked To God, by Jim Kraus, I must admit the picture on the cover was what got me. We have schnauzers, so I fell in love with that sweet schnauzer on the cover! I figured both The Dog That Talked to God and The Cat that God Sent would be cute, fun stories involving someones pet. Well, that was true, but also both of these books contain serious subject material as well.
I like all animals, and although I do like cats and have one myself, I was sure The Dog That Talked to God would be my favorite because I am a dog and schnauzer lover. It was a wonderful story, but I must say The Cat That God Sent was my favorite of the two. Both stories are wonderful, about a pet helping a person (or people) through adjustments and hard times. There was a lot of humor in both books, which of course you would expect with pets involved! I think my favorite was Petey the cat sitting up at the pulpit during each Sunday sermon! The big difference between the two stories was in the way each pet helped: Petey the cat with his actions, and Rufus the dog spoke to his owner!
I really enjoyed both The Dog That Talked to God and The Cat That God Sent, and I think you will too! Author Jim Kraus did a fabulous job writing these books-check out his website.
